The IRU works to change the lives of people with hearing loss by inventing new or improving existing tools for hearing care professionals. In 2024, IRU supported the commercial roll-out of the Audible Contrast Threshold (ACT™) test, enabling more precise fitting of hearing aids. The EU-funded project EASYLI aims to optimize the ratio between costs and benefits of listening in occupational settings. At Eriksholm Research Centre, AI is used to create hearing aid systems that provide tailored sound experiences. In 2024, Demant launched next-gen AI-enabled hearing aids.
