Our Sustainability Policy sets the direction within climate change mitigation and adaptation for all Demant entities and is publicly available on Demant’s website. To steer the organisation towards the achievement of our climate targets, the Policy describes roles, responsibilities and actions to tackle GHG emissions in our own operations and value chain:
- Avoiding the use of unnecessary energy and increasing energy efficiency in our operations
- Substituting internal combustion vehicles with electric vehicles
- Using renewable electricity in own operations
- Focusing on the scope 3 categories where the impact is biggest.
The Policy also lays down the Group’s expectations for relevant business-critical locations regarding the adaptation to climate change-related natural disasters.

- Provide a detailed account of the anticipated financial effects resulting from material physical and transition risks, as well as potential climate-related opportunities, in accordance with Disclosure Requirement E1-9. Note that quantification of financial effects from opportunities is not mandatory if it fails to align with the qualitative characteristics of useful information as outlined in ESRS 1 Appendix B. Additionally, present the Scope 3 GHG emissions, ensuring they are categorized according to the indirect emission categories specified in EN ISO 14064-1:2018.

- Transportation: 26,491 tonnes CO2e

- Business travel: 2,741 tonnes CO2e
- Employee commuting: 28 tonnes CO2e
- Use of sold products: 3,972 tonnes CO2e
- End of life treatment: 167 tonnes CO2e
